A team from Partners in education Haiti met Menise while she was living in a tent city in Port au Prince shortly after the earthquake. She was not in school but wanted to be. She had two more years to complete her high-school education but could not afford the cost of tuition, books, transportation, and uniform.
Menise became one of the 20 percent of Haitians who start school and finish. PieH provides the financial support, but Menise makes it happen by working hard and persevering even when odds are against her. Menise has become a leader and role model for the younger PieH students. She is a hard worker and compassionate human who will continue to make a difference in her country.
With the assistance of Partners in education Haiti, Menise is currently enrolled in a certified nursing school in Port au Prince. She is in her third year and will soon begin practicums as her final year approaches. Upon graduation, Partners in education Haiti will attempt to make connections for potential job opportunities in the nursing field for Menise.
