Partners in Education Haiti (PieH) (LOVE HAITI)* received a $16,500 grant from the United Methodist Missouri Conference for a water-project in Haiti, which will supplement the PieH educational-scholarship efforts.
The project will reconstruct and sanitize the existing unhygienic bathroom at the Duplan Methodist School, where several PieH students attend. The plan also includes the installation of a handwashing station for students (there are no existing handwashing stations), a hygiene seminar for students, and a center for the distribution of clean water for the community. In addition to meeting grant qualifications, Associate Director for Missouri Conference Office of Missions, Service, & Justice, Lucas Endicott, explained that the grant was approved partially because of PieH’s long-standing and compassionate work in Haiti is well respected.
Please see the Grant Proposal for more details about the upcoming project.
